Sometimes the cylinders which are turned off get excess carbon buildup and the piston rings get stuck which causes the loss of compression and oil consumption. A re-ring service will correct this.
Honda Variable Cylinder Management Repairs
These pistons have an excess of carbon buildup but will be just fine to reinstall once the carbon is removed and the rings are replaced. They are out of a V-6 Honda with the variable cylinder management. This engine will run perfectly for a long time when it is back together again.
